Lebanese-born Ali Zabad came to Ireland as a child but he is now back there serving with Unifil
The father of a soldier serving with the Irish Defence Forces in Lebanon is both “very worried” and “extremely proud” that his Lebanese-born son is in his homeland to try and help.
Ali Zabad (26) came to Kilkenny as a young boy fleeing the 2006 Lebanese war. He later became an Irish citizen and joined the Irish Army a number of years ago. He has completed a tour of Syria and is currently on his third tour of Lebanon.
