Question: I was recently reading your answer to the question ‘Should I get an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro?’ (September 14) and was particularly interested in the second half of your answer as I have been a Vodafone bill pay customer since forever, paying €82 monthly (€60 phone and €22 wifi) with an upgrade every 18 months. My upgrade is due at the end of this year.
I didn’t mind paying this — I did enjoy the upgrade as I wouldn’t be able to quite afford a new iPhone otherwise but since the introduction of the price increases every year I am now paying €93.79, which I am struggling to pay. I do like a bill pay phone over a top-up and I do like having the upgrade option as I like to be able to get a new phone but I am wondering if there are other, cheaper options out there for me that would allow me to be both bill pay and have an upgrade. I would appreciate any advice on this. — Louise O’Donnell
