The beloved children’s musician, known for songs like “Baby Beluga” and “Shake My Sillies Out,” has announced that he is looking for “a special woman” — and fans are flocking to help him in his search!
In a Threads post shared on Sunday, Oct. 27, the 76-year-old musician, born Raffi Cavoukian, shared a photo of himself smiling and posing next to a tree with his arms held up high. In the caption, he opened up about his longtime search for a partner.
“For some time, l’ve been wanting to meet a special woman with whom to share heartfelt joy,” wrote the singer-songwriter, who currently resides in British Columbia, Canada.
“Some days,” he continued, “it seems that may never happen, other days such a meeting feels imminent. well, universe, what’ll it be?🌟.”

Intentional or otherwise, the “Down By The Bay” singer’s sweet and honest message turned into a crowdsourcing hotspot, with fans of all ages filling his replies with potential matches — including their moms!
One user wrote that they “would love to send” Raffi their mother’s contact info, and even gave a quick elevator pitch.

“She’s in the area, sings, plays cello, has a PhD in Early Childhood Ed and has a joyful zest for life that is unmatched,” they wrote of their mom, prompting one user to respond, “She sounds like the perfect match.”
Another Threads user also suggested their mother as a possible partner for the musician, writing “I can introduce you to my mom :).”
Others shot their shot more directly. “Actually, it could be me!” one wrote, while another asked, “Where do we send our resumes?”

Those who didn’t have a love interest to suggest, meanwhile, penned hopeful messages for the “Apples and Bananas” singer, “manifesting” a partner for the musician and wishing him luck in his quest for love.

“It will happen Raffi!! Don’t let doubt get you down! Love finds us at the most interesting times and is always waiting for an opportunity to surprise us!” one user wrote, while another stated that they want the musician to find “all the joy that you’ve brought to others!”
A different reply assured the singer that “the perfect partner is out there” somewhere. “I hope she finds you soon,” they wrote, adding, “You deserve all the happiness!”
“What a lovely message from a lovely man,” another echoed. “You deserve all your heart desires, Raffi.”
The star was previously married to Deborah Joan Pike, his high school sweetheart, though the couple split in the early 1990s, according to the Washington Post.
