Season six of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 updated the game with new content, including Bundles and AMPS. One of those recent additions was the JAK Devastators AMP, which is an unlockable item. Complete five of week eight’s listed challenges to get the JAK Devastators and duel-wield destruction. Then, blast away the competition, laughing while doing so.
If MW3 players enjoy dual-wielding weapons and close-quarters combat, then the JAK Devastators are worth unlocking. These shotguns capitalize on small maps, like shipment, and fast-paced game modes. Patrolling enemy spawn zones or patrolling objective locations is a quick way to rack up one-shot kills. Creating a class build around JAK Devastators entails boosting the weapon’s limiting stats, like spread and reload speed.
Best Attachments For JAK Devastators
With Limited Options, Equip Attachments That Tighten Spread
Due to weapon balancing concerns, Akimbo weapons in MW3 naturally don’t allow for many attachment variations. This case is no different for the JAK Devastators, as seen in WhosImmortal‘s video. Barrels, Underbarrels, Optics, and Stocks cannot be modified. With the remaining customizable attachments, concentrate on tightening bullet spread for increased hip-fire accuracy. These shotguns struggle at range, so maximizing the impact of close-range damage with attachments is paramount.

Is Call of Duty being a day-one Game Pass release a good idea for the franchise?
Microsoft and Activision surprised gamers with the reveal that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be a day-one release via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass come October 25, the first in the franchise to do so. In looking at the impact on Game Pass, this is certainly a major benefit to drawing in more subscribers, though for Call of Duty as a whole, I think it’s a somewhat questionable decision. It’ll undeniably bring in just as many players as those who purchase the game, but with no clear metric for how it will be profitable to release a typically $60 game for free to those who pay $15/month, taking away two major paying demographics may actually prove more of a hindrance than benefit.
JAK Devastators: Best Attachments | Attachment Type | Attachment Description |
---|---|---|
Bryson Choke | Muzzle | Reduced bullet spread for hip-fire accuracy |
Schlager ULO-66 | Laser | Increased hip-fire accuracy |
Default Ammo | Ammunition | X |
Center Mass Grip Tape | Rear Grip | Increased handling while sprinting |
X | Barrel | X |

Best Perks For JAK Devastators
Sprint Into Action With Faster Movement And Reload Speed
With Jak Devastators equipped as the primary weapon in MW3, players should focus singularly on sprinting and eliminating. Otherwise, they’ll be wasting space on their teams. After selecting the best attachments, the next task is to choose perks that optimize movement.
The right vest, gloves, boots, and gear will keep the slaughter moving. Each subsection has specific perks tailored to maximize Jak Devastators’ destruction by increasing sprint and reload speeds. The JAK Devastators only carry four rounds per magazine, shown before reloading. Quicker reloads will be crucial to keeping up the barrage and avoiding near-death situations.
JAK Devastators: Best Perks | Perk Type | Perk Description |
---|---|---|
Infantry Vest | Vest (1) | Increased tac sprint speed |
Gunner Vest | Vest (2) | Increased ammo max and reload speed |
Commando Gloves | Gloves | Reload while sprinting |
Running Sneakers | Boots | Increased sprint time and reduced cooldown of sprint |
Mag Holster | Gear | Increased reload speed |
With JAK Devastators, play on
small maps
and objective-based game modes (non-TDM). This loadout is disadvantaged on large-scale maps where there is less cover.
Best Equipment To Use With JAK Devastators
Select Tactical And Lethal Items That Make You A Force Of Rage
Outside of sprinting and shooting in close encounters, equipment can help JAK Devastators players before and after combat. Since most matches will be spent hip-fire blasting through the enemy team, this leaves little time to tinker with clunkier equipment, like Breacher Drones or Tactical Masks.
The best tactical options will complement the attachments and perks you’ve chosen for the build. Before combat, use Battle Rage to boost damage resistance, or after, pop Stim to sprint away from lines of fire. Since reload speed is slow, throwing a frag into a contested area will help clear a path.
JAK Devastators: Best Equipment | Equipment Type | Equipment Description |
Battle Rage | Tactical (1) | Boost resistance to enemy equipment and extend tac sprint speed |
Stim | Tactical (2) | Instant healing item that refills stamina |
Frag Grenade | Lethal (1) | Classic explosive ordinance with a limited blast radius |
Semtex Grenade | Lethal (2) | Explosive ordinance that sticks to the first surface it touches |
Only one tactical item can be equipped at a time. Experiment with
Battle Rage
and
Stim.
Think of Battle Rage as a preemptive
combat tool and Stim as an
escape
tool.

The JAK Devastators Lack Versatility But Have One-Shot Potential
Traditionally, akimbo weapons are either overpowered or underwhelming. It’s tough to say where the JAK Devastators stand. There are two ways to look at the JAK Devastators: fun and challenging. If the grind has gone stale for players by the last season update for this game, then trying a new weapon and playstyle could offer fresh gameplay experiences. And stringing together instant eleminations with the JAK Devastators is pure fun.
But be prepared to go on a death loop from campers or long-range weapons in MW3 when charging into chaos. Right now, the JAK Devastators seem to be more meme than meta. At least they come with a nifty, unique inspection animation. However, the seemingly infinite customization is one of the best parts of MW3.
