Those who rely on the State pension as their sole means of income are “living on the breadline” and “in fear of anything that could go wrong”, a pensioner has claimed ahead of Budget 2025.
Brian Newman (77), from Newbridge, Co Kildare, said finances have become “exceptionally tight” for pensioners, particularly those like him who relied on the state pension as their sole means of income.
