Child benefit has risen less than €10 a month over the last twenty years according to new figures

Child benefit payments have risen by less than €10 per payment over the last 20 years, it has been revealed.

An analysis of new official figures also shows that the state contributory pension has increased by over €470 a month in the same timeframe.
