Agricultural show draws to close with an eclectic mix of fun attractions

There were cheers, tears and treacle as the winner of the National Brown Bread Baking competition was crowned on the last day of the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois.
Carer Rose Egan from Co Offaly was awarded the top prize, and told the assembled crowds that it was “like a dream”.
