A hazardous materials team was called to a large fire that broke out Sunday afternoon, Oct. 20, in North Hollywood.
Firefighters responded around 4:23 p.m. to a large exterior at 11115 W. Vanowen St., near Vineland Avenue, next to railroad tracks and a commercial building, according to an alert from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
The building has placards indicating it has potentially hazardous materials, the fire department said.
The fire department’s HazMat team later responded to the scene.
News video from the scene on ABC7 showed active flames at the site with a large plume of smoke billowing into the air.
