STATE LEGISLATURE

The results are not official but it looks as though Democrats will retain their super majority in the State Senate and State Assembly. Democrats have held a sizable majority in the state Capitol for more than 20 years but no party had won a super majority of seats for 80 years until Democrats did so in 2012. They have held it since.

Results are not final but Republicans may have gained a seat in the Senate and the Assembly, but Democrats still hold a super majority in both.
