A JURY has heard a recording of a fatally wounded father-of four telling emergency services “I got shot at,” minutes after a bullet fired by barrister Diarmuid Phelan hit him in the head.
Members of Keith Conlon’s family left the Central Criminal Court in tears as audio of his brief conversation with a 999 operator was played in Mr Phelan’s trial for his murder. Mr Conlon, who had been trespassing on Mr Phelan’s Dublin land when he was shot, was handed the phone by a farm hand as he lay seriously injured on the ground.
