The dating show feels like it’s still a work in progress, but there are some great characters

I’m late to the game with Love in the Country. this week’s episode was the fifth in the series, and I have now watched all five. It is a dating show, but it’s not like other dating shows — except the other dating shows that are based on the same, originally British, format, Farmer Wants a Wife.
Love in the Country is kind of the opposite of Blind Date. On Blind Date — many, many years ago — you had to choose your date without having seen them. On Love in the Country you get to go to their house and hang out with them for the weekend. You see an awful lot of the person who might or might not choose you. And all of this without Cilla Black bellowing in your ear. So Love in the Country is progress, we have to say.
