A man is due in court after a cannabis growhouse and drugs worth more than €100,000 were discovered in Co Cavan.
The raids took place as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
Gardaí in Co Cavan seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €105,000 on Thursday, a garda spokesperson said.
A property at Loch Gowna was searched and a growhouse was found, as well as 3.1kg of cannabis, with a street value of around €62,000 and 46 cannabis plants, with a street value of €36,800, were seized.
A follow-up search was conducted at another address in Loch Gowna, where a growhouse was discovered along with cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €6,400.
“Two men (aged in their 20s and 30s) were arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,” the garda spokesperson said.
“The man in his 30s has been charged and will appear before this morning’s sitting of Navan District Court.
“The man in his 20s has been released without charge, pending the submission of a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
