Man killed in second deadly NE Portland car-bicycle crash of day

A bicyclist was hit and killed in the Parkrose neighborhood on Monday morning in the second fatal collision of the day in Portland between the driver of a car and a bicyclist.

Portland police responded to the crash near Northeast 105th Avenue and Marx Street around 9 a.m., the bureau said in a news release. Paramedics pronounced an adult male cyclist dead at the scene.

The driver stayed at the site of the crash and is cooperating with police, the news release said. Streets in the area will be closed while police investigate.

Shortly before 3 a.m., the driver of another car hit and killed another bicyclist near the intersection of Northeast 128th Avenue and Glisan Street. That driver fled and hasn’t been located.

Police ask anyone with information about the Glisan Street crash to send an email to [email protected] and reference the case number 24-269766.

Neither victim has been publicly identified at this time.
