‘Liveline’ stirred up the argument that he shouldn’t have got an All-Star award

Kyle Hayes was put back on trial this week, not for anything he did but rather what others did. The ‘others’ were the journalists who chose him at left half-back on this year’s All-Star hurling selection.
RTÉ’s Liveline devoted all of Monday’s show to discussing whether he should have been omitted from the team because of separate convictions for violent disorder and dangerous driving. The programme returned to aspects of the case yesterday.
