A tribunal has barred the press from naming witnesses, including senior officers in An Garda Siochána, in connection with allegations of whistleblower penalisation by a long-serving garda.
A senior counsel acting for the force told the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) yesterday that if the officers were named in connection with the allegations it could “undermine the public perception of them” as sworn members of the force and impact “trust and confidence”.
