Murder trial jury shown ‘fatal bullet’ fired by senior barrister Diarmuid Phelan and which hit unarmed intruder in head

Diarmuid Phelan denies murdering Keith Conlon

A murder trial jury has been shown the “fatal bullet” that senior barrister Diarmuid Phelan fired, hitting an unarmed intruder in the head during a confrontation on his farm.

The Central Criminal Court heard the ammunition was a hollow-point “stinger” bullet later recovered from father-of-four Keith Conlon’s head during a post mortem examination.
