Republic of Ireland soccer star Savannah McCarthy was pulled from a burning car and rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries following a crash on Sunday evening near the Kerry-Limerick border.
The Shamrock Rovers ladies player, who is from Listowel, was one of three people injured in the crash that occurred on the Kerry-Limerick county bounds – near Tarbert just inside Co Limerick – shortly after 8pm.
