Several people injured during public order incident in Tipperary

Early reports indicate that two people have been stabbed

Gardaí say their enquiries are ongoing

A number of people have been injured following a public order incident in Co Tipperary this afternoon.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident which took place just after midday today in Nenagh town.

The Irish Independent understands that two people have been stabbed.

Local councillor Louise Morgan Walsh said the details are very vague at this time and no one is sure what has transpired.

“I have heard that two people have been stabbed in a housing estate in Nenagh town but I have heard nothing else, the details are very vague,” she said “Please God everyone is ok.”

A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána confirmed a number people had been involved in a public order incident in Nenagh town. Four people subsequently received treatment for their injuries.

“Gardaí received report of a public order incident involving a number of individuals in Nenagh, Co Tipperary this afternoon, Friday October 18, 2024.

“All parties involved had left the scene prior to the arrival of Gardaí.

“Four individuals subsequently sought medical treatment of their own accord for non-life threatening injuries.

“Gardaí would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have video/ dashcam footage to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450.

“Enquiries are ongoing. No further information is available at this time.”
