Collecting the ball, on the run and at full tilt, Jason Jenkins knew he was in big trouble as soon as his large frame crumpled to the deck following a ferocious, knee-high chop tackle.
Lying stricken on the Tottenham Hotspur pitch on the stroke of half-time during last season’s pulsating Champions Cup final defeat to Toulouse, the adrenalin kicked in and Jenkins hoped against all hope that the Leinster medical team could strap up his knee and allow him to play on for the second half.
