Current and former TDs and Senators from Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and independents have sued the state over what they say is an unfair and unconstitutional social insurance payment they must pay without receiving any benefits.
Nine politicians have come together to file the High Court action seeking to have Class K PRSI contributions declared unconstitutional. Ireland, the Attorney General and the Minister of Social Protection are named as defendants in the action.
