The Office’s Creed Bratton Finally Confronts The Scranton Strangler In New Video

The Office‘s Creed Bratton finally confronts the Scranton Strangler. Throughout the American version of The Office, which ran on NBC from 2005-2013, one of the topics that would be brought up by the employees of Dunder Mifflin was the mystery of the identity of the Scranton Strangler. Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) even dressed up as the killer one time for an office Halloween party. In The Office, Creed would often show odd behavior, making him a perfect suspect in the cast.

In a video Bratton posted on his Instagram, he reprised the role of the fictional version of himself. The video begins by showing Bratton having a serious conversation with someone. Instead of hearing what Bratton is saying, dramatic music is played. The bottom of the video features text that says “Talking to the Scranton Strangler telling them I’m going to finally reveal their identity…” The video then reveals that Creed is actually talking to himself in a mirror.

While the employees of Dunder Mifflin wondered about the identity of the Scranton Strangler, it appeared that they had an answer after a suspect was arrested. The suspect was later identified as George Howard Skub. Toby Flenderson (Paul Liberstein) was one of the people to serve on the jury for Skub’s trial. As a true-crime fan and amateur mystery author himself, Toby would later often talk about serving on the jury, something many of his coworkers eventually became tired of hearing about.

Although he served on the jury, Toby shared his doubts about Skub being the actual Scranton Strangler during his acceptance speech at Michael Scott’s (Steve Carell) final Dundies ceremony. Almost two years later, Toby went to visit Skub in prison to tell him that he believed he was innocent. However, Toby later left the prison injured after Skub tried to strangle him. Although Skub’s actions hinted at him being the killer, Toby was known for annoying and bringing out the worst in other characters like Michael.

Our Take On Creed Being Revealed As The Scranton Strangler

Creed Was The Most Likely Suspect From Dunder Mifflin

The Office

If anyone from Dunder Mifflin was going to be revealed as the Scranton Strangler, Creed Bratton makes the most sense. Throughout the series, Creed often dropped hints at his mysterious past, which included being in multiple cults (both as a member and a follower), as well as stealing the identity of Creed Bratton from someone else. In the season 6 episode, “Murder,” Michael had his employees play a murder mystery game. After Creed arrived late that day, he went up to Michael to apologize for being tardy. When Michael, still playing his character from the game, told Creed that he was the suspect in a murder, Creed calmly left the office before sprinting to his car and quickly driving away.

Although Skub is serving time for the Scranton Strangler’s crimes, Creed is not a free man either. In the series finale of The Office, Creed is arrested by police for having committed multiple crimes before being hired by Dunder Mifflin. He even tried to fake his death after the documentary that followed the employees aired on TV.
