Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained: Goodie’s Dilemma Explained

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Tulsa King season 2, episode 2.There were even more surprises and twists for Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi in Tulsa King season 2, episode 2, and some of the show’s new plot lines could use some explanation. Tulsa King season 2 has already introduced some new enemies for Dwight to fight, some new opportunities for his gang to make money, and some new problems to solve. The second episode of the season continued that trend and added even more to Dwight’s plate. In fact, so much happened in Tulsa King season 2, episode 2, that it can be hard to keep track of everything.

Though Dwight is the clear main character of Tulsa King, the second episode gave quite a bit of focus to some less prominent characters. Mitch Keller, for instance, got a chance to really shine and add quite a bit of value to the gang. Likewise, Goodie also got his moment in the spotlight, though it wasn’t nearly as positive as Mitch’s. Now, Goodie is faced with a decision that could have some serious repercussions, and understanding the ending of Tulsa King season 2, episode 2 is crucial for understanding what he chooses to do.

Tulsa King Season 2’s Catalytic Converters Scam Explained

Tyson & Armand Started Out Looking For Quick Cash, But Ended Up With A New Money Laundering Option

Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained: Goodie’s Dilemma Explained

Dwight and the gang already have their eyes set on a wind turbine scam after the ending of the Tulsa King season 2 premiere, but now they’ve stumbled upon a new and slightly confusing opportunity. In Tulsa King season 2, episode 2, Tyson tried to help Armand make some quick cash by telling him about his plan to steal catalytic converters from Donnie Shore, the same used car seller who racially profiled him in season 1. While it made sense why Tyson would want to steal from Donnie, Tulsa King didn’t fully explain why they went after his catalytic converters.

Catalytic converters are a car part that’s designed to reduce the amount of pollutants in a vehicle’s emissions. What makes them so valuable is the fact that many catalytic converters use platinum to accomplish that task, and platinum is one of the most valuable precious metals in the world. It’s a fairly common crime in the real world to do exactly as the gang did in Tulsa King: lift a car up using a jack, saw off the catalytic converters, and sell it for its precious metals. It’s also illegal for newer cars to not have a catalytic converter, so Donnie had to replace them all.

Dwight decided to return half of Donnie’s catalytic converters to him so that he could extort protection money out of the used car dealer.

While Tyson likely wanted to simply hurt Donnie for being racist towards him, stealing his catalytic converters also opened up an opportunity. After Mitch went to return half of the converters they stole, he started sweet-talking Donnie into selling his dealership. Dwight will likely take advantage of that opportunity, as a car dealership would be a great way to launder money from their more illegal dealings and earn legitimate revenue as well. The car dealership could even factor into the gang’s future illegal dealings, as they could easily run some form of scam using the vehicles.

How Cal Thresher Is Influencing Dwight’s Trial

Cal Thresher Has The U.S. Attorney In His Pocket

Tulsa King season 2, episode 2 didn’t just have opportunities for Dwight, however, as it also introduced some new obstacles. One of the bigger problems he’s currently facing is his trial for “bribing” Stacy Beale at the end of Tulsa King season 1, and Cal Thresher is making his court case difficult to solve. As Tulsa King showed, the U.S. Attorney owed a favor to Thresher, and he started repaying his debt by promising that Dwight would go to prison. Thresher explained that he wanted to eliminate Dwight as his competition, likely because he doesn’t treat any potential threat to his massive weed empire lightly.

However, it also means that once he settles his legal troubles, Dwight will know exactly who sabotaged him, and will likely go after Thresher.

Later, when Dwight went to negotiate a plea bargain, he saw a callback ticket on the attorney’s desk from Thresher. That let him know that Thresher was actively interfering in his trial, and that there was no way he could secure a plea bargain with the U.S. Attorney. Since the U.S. Attorney promised Thresher that he would personally try Dwight’s case, Dwight will have to go to trial and argue his own innocence. However, it also means that once he settles his legal troubles, Dwight will know exactly who sabotaged him, and will likely go after Thresher.

What The Newspaper Article Means In Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 2

The Chinese Mob Could Add To Dwight’s Problems

Jackie Ming (Rich Ting) speaks to Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) in Tulsa King season 2

A quick, somewhat easy to miss but nonetheless important moment in Tulsa King season 2, episode 2 came towards the end of the episode. Tyson took Dwight to spend a night at his family’s home, since the Mayo was still being plagued by reporters, and Dwight read a crucial newspaper article there. The newspaper article mentioned that Chinese organized crime had infiltrated the U.S. marijuana market, which likely means Dwight will have even more competition in the future. The article also sets up another addition to the cast of Tulsa King season 2: Jackie Ming (Rich Ting).

Jackie Ming briefly appeared in the trailer for Tulsa King season 2, and it was suggested he would be working with Cal Thresher. The trailer saw Ming tell Thresher “there are millions to be made,” and it looked like quite a bit of money changed hands between them. If Jackie Ming does ally with Thresher, then Dwight will have yet another enemy trying to take him down in Tulsa King season 2. Ming’s upcoming appearance likely means other members of the Chinese mob will also be coming to Tulsa, which can only be trouble for Dwight and his gang.

Will Goodie Really Betray Dwight & Join Chickie?

Goodie May Want To Rule Tulsa For Himself

There are already quite a few ongoing plot threads in Tulsa King season 2, but the end of episode 2 introduced a bombshell surprise to top them all. Earlier in the episode, Bill Bevilaqua called Chickie to complain about Dwight being sent to Tulsa, and he said he had expected the Invernizzi family would have sought his blessing before encroaching upon his territory. At the end of the episode, Chickie called Goodie personally and let him know that the Invernizzi family would be siding with Bevilaqua against Dwight, and he offered Goodie a chance to join them again.

Since Goodie willingly betrayed Chickie once already, and since Chickie killed Jerry Izzo to punish Goodie, it’s rather surprising that he would offer him a way back into the mafia. Currently, it’s not clear whether Goodie will betray Dwight and join Chickie or not. Chickie did sweeten the deal by saying that once they take Dwight down, Goodie would get to control Tulsa for the Invernizzi family. Chickie also asked Goodie if he was agreeing to the plan, and though he didn’t outright accept Chickie’s offer, he also said “that’s not a no.”

It’s still too early to tell what Goodie will decide, but his choice could change Tulsa King entirely.

Goodie’s dilemma over whether to betray Dwight or stay loyal to his new boss will likely be a problem for future episodes of Tulsa King. If he does decide to stab Dwight in the back, it could be absolutely ruinous for the gang. Dwight trusts Goodie, and he could deal some serious damage either to Dwight himself or some of his revenue streams. On the other hand, Goodie could also be playing dumb to get information out of Chickie, in which case it could end up being very beneficial. It’s still too early to tell what Goodie will decide, but his choice could change Tulsa King entirely.
