Two men have been arrested by gardaí investigating drug-related intimidation in the North Dublin region.

Both men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested under organised crime legislation and are currently being held at a Garda station in North Dublin.

Gardaí said officers in the DMR North, backed by the Armed Support Unit, carried out the arrests aa part of Operation Fógra.

This is An Garda Síochána’s response in the DMR to Drug Related Intimidation (DRI) conducted as part of the Garda National Strategy under Operation Tara.

“Operation Fógra was launched to combat drug related intimidation which has been identified as a major source of community harm and fear in the DMR and is a sinister motive for various forms of criminality,” a spokesperson said.

“The operation has two underpinning pillars including a harm reduction victim centred approach and information enabled policing informing operational responses.

“The objectives of Operation Fógra are to support communities, increase frontline awareness of DRI and enhance collaboration.”
