Ultra-right activists arrested in Paris: Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier’s custody extended

The day after the arrest of 39 members of the ultra-right in Paris, including around twenty S files, 38 of them were released on Sunday with a decision to classify them without further action, Le Parisien learned from a judicial source. Only one police custody was extended: that of Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, former leader of the small group “Zouaves Paris”, dissolved in 2022.

These activists were arrested on Saturday around 4 p.m., at the exit of the Charonne cemetery, where they had just paid tribute to the far-right writer Robert Brasillach, sentenced to death at the Liberation for acts of collaboration.

Before being arrested, these activists had been seen near the union demonstration against the far right on the Place de la République. At least two of them were equipped with crutches, which could be considered weapons by destination, a source close to the case told AFP.

The day after their arrest by the Brav-M police officers, all these members of the ultra-right were released. All except one: Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier.
