Marcus Mariota is making the Washington Commanders’ decision to sign him was a brilliant move.
The Commanders’ backup quarterback, who stepped in after starter Jayden Daniels suffered a rib injuiry, has looked very sharp against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He threw another touchdown pass in the game, this one a 2-yard scoring pass to tight end Ben Sinnott in the third quarter.
The touchdown pass was Mariota’s second of the game. He completed a 12-yard pass to tight end Zach Ertz in the second quarter. Mariota’s two touchdown passes was the first time he has throw multiple touchdown passes in a game since Week 10 of the 2022 season, when he with the Atlanta Falcons.
Mariota had completed 14-of-18 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns going late in the third quarter.
