‘We have the best beaches in the country, but people can’t access them’ – Inishowen locals fear effects of coastal erosion

A 65km stretch of coastline along the Inishowen Peninsula in north Donegal is set to become a testing ground for mapping out the future effects of coastal erosion, but locals warn protections need to come first.

Surrounded by Lough Swilly on one side, Lough Foyle on the other and with the Atlantic Ocean at its headlands, you can’t go far in Inishowen before you reach water.
