Taoiseach Simon Harris has accused Israel of showing a “blatant disregard for international law” and giving “no consideration to the protections for civilians” as he reacted to the Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon today.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Mr Harris said that, yet again, innocent children are caught in the conflict, adding that “a child’s cry is the same in any language”, as he made a fresh call for a de-escalation of violence in the Middle East.
