In order to get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite, you first need to find Rough Amber, and this can only be found at one type of location in the game. When starting a new world, either in Survival mode or Exploration mode, players usually end up starting in the Grasslands biome. Amber can’t be found anywhere within this grassy biome, meaning you need to explore a different part of the map to find it.
It can be a bit of a frustrating hunt since it requires trial and error, looking around the world, but this search is essential. Since Amber is required to craft village upgrades and rare axes, this is an adventure all players will need to go on at least once to progress further in the game. While it’s more difficult than learning how to get Gold Ore, the time spent will be well worth it.
How To Get Rough Amber In LEGO Fortnite
Look For The Desert Biome
To find Rough Amber in LEGO Fortnite, you need to go to a Dry Valley biome, the desert-like area, and spot the resource as yellow rocks on top of cliffs as pictured above. If you’re struggling to spot a Dry Valley biome, keep exploring until you find a dark-sanded area with stone pillars and cacti. In order to reach the top of these cliffs, bring a large amount of Wood with you to craft some stairs so you can walk to the top.
Locating Rough Amber is one thing, but now you need to learn how to excavate it. Equip a pickaxe that’s at least Uncommon so it’s strong enough to damage the gem deposit. Then, strike the Amber with the pickaxe around eight times in order to break and harvest it. You should get at least two pieces of Rough Amber per deposit.
To survive the desert heat of a Dry Valley biome, eat a Snowberry or Snowberry Shake for a temporary boost to heat resistance.
If you want to make regular trips back to the Dry Valley biome to stock up on Amber, try building a Battle Bus Station. These are essentially fast-travel points, meaning you won’t need to traipse through the wilderness every time you want to return.
How To Get Cut Amber
Build A Gem Cutter
To get Cut Amber in LEGO Fortnite, you need to build a Gem Cutter out of 20 pieces of Marble Slab, five pieces of Rough Amber, five Sand Claws, and three Sand Shells. The rest of the steps are even easier than completing Fortnite mobile App quests. Interact with the Gem Cutter, assign the Cut Amber recipe, and press Up to leave pieces of Rough Amber to be processed.
After around 30 seconds, your Cut Amber will be ready. Interact with the Gem Cutter and select the “Take” prompt to receive your shiny new gems. As long as you can find a Dry Valley biome, any LEGO Fortnite player will be able to get all the Rough Amber and Cut Amber they’ll need.
