A woman has been arrested after a fire caused extensive damage to a home in Co Cork.
Gardaí say they are investigating the blaze which occurred at a residence on the College Road at around 1am this morning.
One man was taken to University Hospital Cork for treatment, but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
Extensive damage was caused to the property.
The fire was brought under control by local fire services
“A woman (40s) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Southern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984,” a garda spokesperson said.
“The scene is preserved and a technical examination will take place today.”
