Mangaratiba – Praia do Saco, in Mangaratiba, on the green coast, will host this Sunday, (28), the State Stand up Paddle Championship, SUP RACE 2024. One hundred SUP athletes will be present, representing several cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro . The competition is open to ages 16 and up.
The competitions will feature athletes aged 16 and over, distributed across different categories, on a circuit that will feature different distances, adapted to all levels and experiences of the competitors. All categories and values can be checked on the federation’s website.
Among the highlights of the stage, the athletes will have the presence of André Rosa, Professional Athlete, Coach and Physical Trainer, who will give a lecture with the theme “Physical Preparation for the Stand up Paddle activity”; Another confirmed speaker is Jonas Letieri, Professional Athlete, Multi International Champion, teaching the theme “Overcoming Limits through Stand up Paddle, a program full of knowledge and a lot of exchange between participants.

Free children’s activities will be highlights of the championship
FESUPRJ in partnership with the Stand up Paddle Circuit Project, a project encouraged by the Federal Government through the Special Secretariat for Sports of the Ministry of Citizenship aimed at promoting and popularizing the practice of Stand up Paddle, together with Rio Ecoesporte, an ecotourism and sports agency , will provide a memorable experience in the world of SUP for children up to 16 years old with or without experience in the sport. Interested parties can register on site, where they will have a free experience practicing SUP.
For Rogério Romano, President of the Stand up Paddle Federation in Rio, supporting the practice of the sport, through championships and sporting events, is important not only for society to have an even healthier life, but also to promote the economy through sports tourism.

– 7am to 8:45am – delivery of participants’ kits and check-in of athletes.
– 9am – start of the races for professionals and amateurs (RACE categories).
– 10:30 am – start of the beginners’ tests (ALL BOARD categories).
– 11am – start of children’s activities and KIDS test.
– 11:30 am – Workshop on Stand up Paddle with invited professionals.
– 12:30 pm – General awards for the event and the 2023 champions.
