4 injured in shooting in Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, Ill. — Four people were injured on Sunday afternoon after a shooting in Oak Forest.

According to Oak Forest police, officers were called to the scene in the 5500 block of Babette Court just after 5 p.m. following reports of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found three people who had all suffered gunshot wounds.

Police say two of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The third victim suffered a non-life-threatening wound and was released after receiving treatment at the treated at the hospital.

While on scene, authorities learned about a vehicle that was possibly connected to the incident. Police later located the car in the 5900 block of 159th Street and conducted a traffic stop.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered that a person inside the vehicle had also suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They were then taken to the hospital.

Authorities said that another occupant of the vehicle was detained during the stop, but have not provided details on how they were connected to the incident.

Oak Forest police had previously referred to the shooting as a domestic shooting and later said that there is no threat to the community.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities say no arrests have been made.
