A ‘procedure’ that is not resolved – El Financiero

Arrogance is not a good companion for someone who seeks to be president of Mexico and even more so at a time when the coin is in the air in relation to the presidential election on June 2. More than a reason for celebration, it is a reason for concern and concern, because asserting “that the election is just a matter of procedure” is a boast resulting from listening to the siren song of lambiscones that tend to confuse even the most sensible.

His collaborators and paleros have promised Claudia Sheinbaum up to 35 million votes and this, in itself, is an impossible mission, since, as will be remembered, AMLO, with all the citizen support he had, won with 30 million and although the registry electoral has already grown to reach figures of almost 100 million voters, the truth is that it is estimated that 60% of the nominal list goes to the polls and because more citizens come to vote, to the same extent the votes for Xóchitl Gálvez.

The candidate of the PAN, PRI, and PRD is right in criticizing Claudia Sheinbaum’s position, because saying that the election is a mere procedure is a lie or a display of arrogance. In some people it can be both, but pride is a sin that is paid for in life.

The strategy that the ruling party has put into operation to position the idea that the Morena, PT and PVEM candidate has already won the election, contrasts with the nervousness that prevails in the main guest of the National Palace, who interferes daily in the process. electoral and does everything to avoid alternation in power.

If everything were already resolved, the president would no longer have the need to carry out morning meetings to skew reality according to his vision.

If election day on June 2 was just a procedure, then why continue with a campaign that is exhausting, expensive and high risk.

If it is only a matter of time before they give you their proof of majority, then why do they continue to pay for polls, covering the main cities of the country with propaganda and billboards.

If the ruling party’s candidate has already won, what is the point of going to the third debate where the main topic will be public insecurity, the main complaint of Mexicans and that the strategy of “hugs, not bullets” is indefensible due to the exponential growth of crime rates, mainly homicides.

If it is just a procedure, why is a State election and tons of cash being prepared to oil the electoral machinery.

But, well, there are only 25 days left until the appointment, with a relevant and historic date for all Mexicans, June 2, and there we will see how solid the belief was that the election was just a procedure.

The former head of Government of Mexico City is wrong to underestimate the power of the electorate and even more so of those who will vote against her.

Making these types of statements to keep voters away from the polls, “because it is just a procedure,” is a frank disdain for democracy and the political maturity of citizens.

The doctor should be more humble and empathetic, since even winning the presidential election, she will require the support of those sectors of the population that are currently openly against what she represents.

TEPJF protects the vote

The Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) is legally and institutionally prepared with its five magistrates to receive and resolve all means of challenge that are presented, said the presiding magistrate of the Superior Chamber of the Court. Electoral of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, Mónica Aralí Soto, warning that the lack of appointments in the vacant magistrates will not prevent the highest electoral court from exercising its functions in accordance with the constitutional mandate.

Likewise, he said that the TEPJF does not remove or add candidates, but rather protects the vote that each citizen will cast on election day, for which it verifies and guarantees that each of the votes have been counted and cast in complete freedom. .

“The current integration of this institution, with five judges, is prepared legally and institutionally, ethically, with the independence and autonomy that has always represented us to continue strengthening the full exercise of the rights of all and everyone,” Soto Fregoso highlighted.
