AC cedis opens for Wise Snacks in Pennsylvania – El Financiero

Arca Continental (AC) opened a Wise Snacks distribution center, with a capacity of 250,000 square feet in Pennsylvania, also known as “the Keystone State,” in the United States (US).

It is worth remembering that in 2012, the Monterrey-based company that owns Bokados completed the purchase of Wise Snacks, based precisely in Pennsylvania, while in 2017 it announced the acquisition of Deep River, a premium snack manufacturer located in Connecticut.

In April, El Financiero published about the expansion that Arca Continental is doing in Texas to be able to meet the demand expected in the US for the 2026 World Cup.

The company detailed its $168 million expansion plan for its Fossil Creek facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Included were 2 new production lines and a more than double increase in storage space.

This investment follows another of 260 million dollars that the royal company made in Houston, where it installed a production and distribution center in 2020.

It should be noted that Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages has 7 facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas.

In the first quarter of 2024, the royal corporation’s sales in the USA amounted to 17,730 million pesos (mp), contributing 35 percent to the total.

“This first quarter has turned out to be the most profitable since we began operations in the USA,” he detailed in his financial report.

Included in that figure was Arca Continental-Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and the Wise and Deep River snack businesses recorded an increase at an annual rate of 2.3 percent in their volume sales in the US during the first quarter of 2024.

“Driven by the cola and water categories, which increased 2.6 and 7.5 percent, respectively, volumes in the supermarket and convenience store channels grew 2.2 and 4.3 percent respectively.”

At the beginning of the year, the company launched more than 70 SKUs, including Coca-Cola Spiced. In addition to making a price increase of 4.6 percent.

“We remain focused on optimal packaging execution with greater profitability, driven by our trade promotion optimization tool.”

Meanwhile, EBITDA in the US was 2,730 million pesos, an increase of 2.2 percent.
