The Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro, once again, opens an agenda for the discussion of the Rights of People with Cancer. One of the proposals that has been well received by parliamentarians is the holding of a Seminar or Public Hearing where society could be represented and participate with questions. The organization assured that big names, already contacted, will be present, including two former Health Ministers who were part of the Lula and Bolsonaro governments. The idea is to create a cross-party consensus, given the human importance of the issue, and to discuss new legislation favorable to life and health, without political passions. Those involved in the initiative will also invite the Secretary of State for Health of Rio de Janeiro, Claudia Mello, and that of the capital, Daniel Soranz.

Discreet, but working behind the scenes, former PSB federal deputy Alessandro Molon reappeared and declared support for the pre-candidacy of Talíria Petrone, from PSOL, for mayor of Niterói. The federal deputy had almost 200 thousand votes. She also received the support of state deputies Carlos Minc and Flávio Serafini, and the municipal presidents of PSB and PSOL, Nadine Borges and Carol Leite, respectively. “Talíria will be a great mayor. She will manage beautifully and show us how much Niterói can advance. We will remove Bolsonarism from the second round”, declares Molon.
Public policies for people with disabilities
The Rio Municipal Secretariat for Persons with Disabilities is promoting, this Monday (6), at the Museum of Tomorrow, an event to publicize implemented public policies. In the last three years, the secretariat has doubled the number of people with disabilities assisted at Reference Centers and has taken over the administration of the SUAS partner network.
Councilwoman questions sports funding
The team that advises councilor Teresa Bergher (PSDB) identified in the Official Gazette that the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure allocated R$ 80 thousand in sponsorship to the Association of Magistrates of the State of Rio de Janeiro – AMAERJ, to hold the 1st National Tournament of Beach Tennis AMB/AMAERJ. “Meanwhile, the Olympic Villages are falling apart. It’s not possible to understand these priorities”, provokes Bergher.

Festival Rio Diversidade 2024, at the Rio Art Museum – MAR, on the 21st, will have among the guests the stylist Carlos Tufvesson, coordinator of Sexual Diversity at Rio City Hall, and a musical performance by the Rocinha LGBTQIA+ Choir.
