Alice Wegmann participated in “Encontro”, a TV Globo program presented by Patrícia Poeta to talk about the series “Justiça 2”. This Thursday (25), the actress spoke about the physical consequences of filming scenes of sexual abuse in the plot written by Manuela Dias.

In the production, which premiered on April 11th on Globoplay, Alice plays Carolina, who was raped for two years by her uncle, Jayme, played by Murilo Benício, when she was a teenager. A decade later, she again becomes the victim of the criminal.

Alice said in “Encontro” that the scenes were so strong that she woke up in pain in the following days of recording. “Many of the scenes I did with Murilo Benício, who was an incredible partner throughout this whole process, I woke up with physical pain the next day,” she reported. “Even if there wasn’t a lot of physical touch in the scenes. Sometimes, even if it wasn’t there, I would wake up full of pain because emotions also affect it a lot.”

Wegmann also highlighted the importance of portraying sexual abuse in the audiovisual: “Often, we think that a rapist or a criminal is very distant from our reality and our families. But most of them are very close people.”

“Unfortunately, many people will identify with this character, but fortunately many people will be inspired by her courage and strength. I think this is very important”, added Alice.
