Rio – Amanda Meirelles, 33 years old, stands out not only as the winner of “BBB 23”, but also as a reference in financial management. With a trajectory marked by strategic choices, she shared Half an hour how her life has changed since winning the award a year ago and the challenges and achievements that marked her career transition, from doctor, in Paraná, to communicator.

The ex-sister, who earned more than R$2.8 million on the reality show, reveals the behind-the-scenes of her financial decisions, from the care taken to pay off her R$480,000 student debt to the investments that boosted her career, and tells about her new professional goals, one year after being crowned champion.

How has your year been since winning ‘BBB 23’? What has changed in your life since then?

I had a wonderful year. I moved, met many incredible people, went to places I never imagined, worked hard and created a board on Instagram to bring health information to the population. I always say that, while everything has changed, nothing has changed because I’m still the same empathetic, humble and simple Amanda, but with more desire to take care of people.

What were the biggest challenges you faced after leaving the program?

Being a public person has many challenges, but I am dealing with them calmly. I have a really cool relationship with my followers and I show a 100% real Amanda, with all the hassles of everyday life.

How have you been using the money you earned on ‘BBB’? Could you detail your debt with Fies and how important it was to pay it?

My money is invested. At first, I took part to move, hire a team to manage my career, pay off debts, help my parents and develop some personal projects, but with the work on Instagram I was able to recover. Regarding Fies, I observed that it was more advantageous to continue paying the monthly installments, as I pay with income from investments. There was no discount for paying in full.

How was the reception from those around you after your victory on ‘BBB’? Has this changed your relationships?

The best reception I could have in the world. When I left the program, my family and friends were waiting for me in a house near Estúdios Globo. Even with busy schedules, everyone came to hug me, and there is no money in the world that could pay for that. My relationships remain the same, I will never forget everything my family and friends did for me during the program.

How have you dealt with fame and visibility after participating in the program?

At first I was scared by so many people who liked me, wanted to hug me, take a photo, etc., because I was never used to that, right? I lived in an ICU. But I soon got used to it. I love everyone’s affection, I love talking, hugging… Sometimes I spend hours at the airport with the fans. Their love is, without a doubt, my greatest reward. I had many memorable moments, but a very rewarding moment was visiting the northeastern hinterland with the NGO Amigos do Bem. Knowing that my fans ran a campaign to collect donations was very, very special.

What was the biggest lesson you learned over the last year?

That I must always remain the same person and that nothing should dazzle me, because my feet are and will always be on the ground.

Do you feel that the ‘BBB’ experience provided you with personal growth?

For sure. It was one of the most important experiences of my life, where I got to know myself even better.

Do you have future plans for your career?

I have many and I am studying and dedicating myself to all of them. All my projects are aimed at my purpose in life, which is to take care of people. I talk about health daily on my social networks, I created Papo Saúde and I want to expand this so that more people have access to information and can prevent diseases. Information heals!

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about participating in a reality show with ‘BBB’?

Don’t enter without knowing yourself very well, as self-knowledge is extremely important so that you know how to deal with the pressure of the game, know how to make the best decisions and don’t change your essence for anything.
