Oxxo Gas has in Nuevo León (NL) a total of 231 permits to operate service stations, surpassing the Pemex brand, which has 224, according to information from the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).
With this number of gas stations, they have 31 percent of the NL gas station market, which, by the way, stands out for having the most expensive Premium gasoline in all of Mexico, with San Pedro being the municipality with the highest fuel prices, data from the firm PetroIntelligece.
In third place is the Petro 7 brand, which has received a total of 120 permits from the CRE to operate gas stations in Nuevo León.
After Petro 7, Mobil, BP, Fullok, Power Fuel, Valero, Goodprice, Gulf, American Fuel, Soriana, Walmart and Arco stand out with more service stations in NL.
Throughout Mexico, there are a total of 368 commercial images nationwide, and in the case of NL, 27 images have been identified, PetroIntelligece information reveals.
In addition, 350 fuel brands have been identified nationwide, and in the case of NL a total of 24 brands have been identified.
The CRE has granted a total of 743 permits for this type of establishments throughout NL and Monterrey is the municipality with the largest number of gas stations in the entity.
In addition, it is worth noting that Oxxo Gas is the second most important station network in the country, which aims to double the number of its gas stations by 2025; However, its strategy will not stop at that goal, as it intends to continue its expansion in the following years, according to data from the CRE and PetroIntelligece.
“With more than 600 service stations in operation in 17 states of the Republic, Femsa’s fuel division; OxxoGas has exceeded its own expansion expectations, and confirms that it will maintain its opening strategy to expand its market,” indicates the information from PetroIntelligece.
Since 2002, the company revealed that it intends to expand its footprint to 1,100 service stations by 2025, to reach 1,200 stations in 2026.
According to OxxoGas executives, this growth will be based on the control model of the gas stations that carry their image.
The 20 most important business groups in the country hold a total of 557 CRE permits to operate service stations for the sale of gasoline and diesel.
In addition, there are 117 independent groups, that is, those that only have a single service station.
