England – Current midfielder for Fulham, England, Andreas Pereira revealed details of Flamengo’s runner-up in the 2021 Libertadores. The player stated that the Rio club had to use an armored car to transport the squad after the defeat to Palmeiras.

The midfielder believes he was experiencing his best phase at Rubro-Negro, when he was even considered for the Brazilian team. In an interview with the FiveUK podcast, which is hosted by former defender Rio Ferdinand, Andreas Pereira described the move in which he slipped and gave up the ball for Deyverson to come in face to face and score the goal that sealed Verdão’s victory.

“After that, it was hell. On the way back to Brazil, people wanted to destroy the bus, attack the house. We had to leave first and take another car, which is not normal. It was bulletproof,” he said.

“When I got home I thought, ‘I can’t believe this is happening,'” he added.

He remained at Flamengo until mid-2022, when the loan contract ended. At the time, he reinforced his desire to remain in Rio de Janeiro, but there was no agreement between Rubro-Negro and Manchester United.

Now, Andreas Pereira is one of Fulham’s highlights and was in the team’s last call-up, led by Dorival Júnior. At the English club, he took to the field 33 times this season – 30 as a starter -, scored three goals and provided seven assists.
