Casimiro de Abreu – Family farming in Casimiro de Abreu is reaching new heights of success, with bean production reaching significant records. This year, producers from the Visconde Settlement began planting, and the expectation is that other rural communities will follow suit, contributing to the growth of the harvest.

In the last three years, the municipality has witnessed a significant increase in bean production. In 2020, 4.5 tons were harvested, a number that jumped to 12 tons in 2021. The following year, production exceeded 20 tons, and in the last year it reached more than 30 tons.

These impressive results are the result of the partnership between rural producers and the Department of Agriculture, which offers full support to farmers. From seed supply to technical support in the field and processing of production, this collaboration has been fundamental in boosting local agricultural development.

In addition to strengthening the rural economy, bean production contributes to community food security, ensuring access to fresh and nutritious food. With the support of the Department of Agriculture, producers are better prepared to face challenges and take advantage of opportunities in family farming.
