Belford Roxo – The defender created by Belford Roxo, Nathan da Silva, aged 21, was one of the stars of the Acreano State Championship of the 1st Division of 2024, acting as captain of IndependĂȘncia Futebol Clube, lifting the champion’s cup, after fasting 26 years. He was considered one of the four best defenders in the competition by the local press. His good performances at Acre earned him a transfer to Barcelona Esportivo Capela, a team in the 2nd Division of the Campeonato Paulista.

“This was my first trip to play for a team outside of Rio de Janeiro, spending months away from home, but I was blessed by God, who is my biggest inspiration, with another championship title. I know that I was a fundamental player for IndependĂȘncia and I thank the club’s management and technical team for their attention. I want new challenges to show the world that the poor boy from Baixada Fluminense won through his talent and provided better living conditions for his family. I will be eternally grateful to Belford Roxo who opened the doors for me and to everyone who has encouraged me”, said defender Nathan da Silva.

Defender Nathan, whose idol is former Flamengo defender Juan, started playing football at the age of 11, at former player Luis Carlos da Silva’s school (ParĂĄ), in the Guaraciaba neighborhood. Later, he improved with coaches AntĂŽnio Carlos and Danilo, who made him aware of his potential as an athlete.

In 2021, he auditioned and joined the under-23 team at Sociedade Esportiva Belford Roxo. In 2022, he was promoted to the professional team, becoming State Champion of Series C. The following year, he transferred to SĂŁo CristĂłvĂŁo, winning the Waldir Amaral Cup, moving up to Series B2, and in the same year to Series B1.
