Bosch will take mobility to another level – El Financiero

In the last two years Bosch Mexico It has accumulated investments of almost 25 billion pesos, of which 15 billion pesos were allocated to the development of automotive technology.

This year, after its business area focused on Mobility reported double-digit growth in sales during 2023, it decided to carry out a reconfiguration of this and other divisions.

In interview, Eduardo Watty, Vice President of Sales of Mobility Solutions at Bosch Mexico assured that the company advances its vision towards the development of technology for the mobility of the future focused mainly on three strategic points: safety towards zero accidents; connectivity and powertrain.

Regarding safety, he pointed out that they worked together with government agencies so that within NOM 094 it was established that all Electronic Stability Control (ESP) systems are part of the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) system. , were mandatory starting this year and advance the issue of zero accidents.

He added that for connectivity, Software is going to take on great importance in the transformation of mobility and the automotive industry, which is why they are working on the development of applications, because in practically no time we will have vehicles that will be like a smartphone with wheels.

“This is a new trend in the automotive industry, the growth is interesting since three times more applications or 10 times more software solutions are being developed and in that same proportion they are being created, since Mexico is a player that exports globally. , but it also imports global vehicles.”

He highlighted that they are also working on the development of hardware for supercomputers that will have the ability to interact and interconnect with the vehicle, its components, the user and the environment.

Regarding powertrain solutionsEduardo Watty indicated that they are working on the development of new generations of components for direct injection and aftertreatment systems, as well as components for the generation of new electric vehicles.

“All this technology around mobility, Bosch is producing it in Mexico, the electronic components in the Juárez and Celaya plants; assisted braking systems and ESP in Aguascalientes; fuel injection systems in San Luis Potosí and while in Toluca it is producing actuators and components for transmissions.”

Thus, this year the Bosch Group will launch 30 electric vehicle production projects. In the area of ​​hydrogen growth, it has reaffirmed its business expectations: by 2030, its sales with hydrogen technology could reach 5 billion euros.
