‘Minha Irmã e Eu’, a film starring Tatá Werneck and Ingrid Guimarães, directed by Susana Garcia, surpassed the mark of two million tickets sold and, naturally, has already reached streaming.
Another recent success, ‘Os Farofeiros 2’, work by Paulo Cursino, led by Danielle Winits, Mauricio Manfrini, Aline Campos, Nilton Bicudo, among others. Due to the good acceptance, the third in the series should not be long in coming.
The fact is that our film market realized that Brazilians love comedy and have invested heavily in the segment, bringing in great professionals.
There is great expectation, including, surrounding the production of ‘A Sogra Perfeita 2’, whose work takes place in the Perdizes neighborhood, in São Paulo, under the command of Cris D’Amato. Still without a release date, it has Fafy Siqueira as the mother-in-law of the moment, playing a priceless Portuguese woman, alongside Cacau Protásio, Evelyn Castro, Marcelo Laham, Ricardo Pereira, Maria Bopp, among others.
‘A Banda’, by filmmaker Hsu Chien, has just been filmed in Rio Grande do Sul and features the cast: Luísa Périssé, Lucas Penteado, Lucas Salles, Werner Schünneman, Alessandra Werney and Germano Lunelli.
‘Suddenly, Miss!’ will hit cinemas on the 16th. Described as a “comedy for the whole family”, it is led by Fabiana Karla, Giulia Benite, Danielle Winits, João Baldasserini, Polly Marinho, Nany People, Naruna Costa, Roney Villela, Karla Karenina, among others.
New wave
Globo even plans to produce a sequel to the soap opera ‘Êta Mudo Bom!’ for the 6 p.m. time. A mission for Walcyr Carrasco, who, according to people, was already working on the synopsis.
As we know, ‘No Rancho Fundo’ is a continuation of ‘Mar do Sertão’.
Screenwriter Júlio Kadetti sent José Luiz Villamarim (director of television drama at Globo) a sequel project to ‘Escrava Isaura’ entitled ‘A Filha da Liberdade’. The plot would address what the lives of the couple Isaura and Álvaro were like after the last chapter! If they managed to find happiness in a Brazil where slavery had not been abolished, or did they suffer even more in those days?

In 2025, ‘Escrava Isaura’, produced by Globo and starring Lucélia Santos, Rubens de Falco and Edwin Luisi, celebrates 49 years of its release.

Senna
Child actress Sophia Turini will make her audiovisual debut playing one of Viviane Senna’s phases in the series ‘Senna’, starring Gabriel Leone and still without a release date on Netflix. The similarity between them draws attention!
Another detail: the Brazilian idol spent his childhood, adolescence and part of his youth in neighborhoods in the North Zone of São Paulo, close to where Sophia’s family lives.
