EVANSTON, Ill. — A 20-year-old man was shot in Evanston Wednesday afternoon, prompting a large police presence that remains amid rush-hour traffic, police said.
Around 4:50 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of Foster and Jackson. There, officers found a male shooting victim.

The shooting victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is considered stable, police said.
Foster and Jackson to Foster and Dewey South from Simpson & Ashland are closed for the investigation.
