Bruno Henrique was another Flamengo player complaining about a foul in the second goal from Botafogo, in a 2-0 defeat this Sunday (28), at Maracanã. O attacker considered that there was a foul on Fabrício Bruno and sees the recent movements of pressure on arbitration by Botafogo and the owner of SAF, John Textor, as a possible explanation for referee Raphael Claus’ decision.

Bruno Henrique’s suspicion is in Claus’s explanation about having considered the normal bid. This is because the referee saw similarity in the second goal of Flamengo’s 2-1 victory over Botafogo, in the 2023 Brasileirão, scored by the attacker. This game is in Textor’s report delivered to the Game Manipulation CPI.

“He (referee) used the argument that last year we scored a goal like the one Botafogo scored now. The player, I don’t remember who it was, kind of pushed Tchê Tchê from behind during the play (in 2023). We We don’t see last year, we want to know about today”, began Bruno Henrique, who then spoke about Textor’s pressure:

“Then after this controversy from the president of Botafogo (in fact Textor is the owner of SAF), who said a lot of things, we don’t know what could happen. In my opinion, the goal was irregular, it ended up getting in the way. So he used this argument, I don’t know why. If Botafogo talks about it, then Flamengo will have to start talking too, because it can’t be like that.”

In the week before the classic, the Botafogo sent a letter against Claus’s lineup, due to criticism made by Textor. The referee, who also refereed last year’s game, was invited to testify at the CPI.
