People in Colorado who have had their cars stolen, or their car catalytic converters stolen may be able to get some reimbursement money from a state program.
Colorado residents who had a car stolen on or after July 1 may be able to get reimbursed for some costs related to storage and tow fees, vehicle cleaning and limited car repairs in a program put on by the Colorado Automobile Theft Prevention Authority and the Colorado State Patrol. You must apply for funds before May 31. The Colorado legislature has set aside a limited amount of money for the program.
You must provide your driver’s license, a valid vehicle registration at the time of theft, a copy of your insurance, a copy of the police report and any other applicable documents. To apply, visit https://lockdownyourcar.org/resources/victims-assistance/.
