CDMX Prosecutor’s Office points to 8 people for drilling in the tunnel of Metro Line 12 – El Financiero

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FJG-CDMX) reported that it took criminal action against eight people for his alleged relationship with the drilling of the tunnel of Metro Line 12 which caused construction material (cement) to be poured onto a convoy and the tracks.

In a bulletin, the corporation indicated that it is one woman and seven mensome of them workers of the Benito Juárez mayor’s officewho were accused of their probable participation in the crimes of property damage, in the case of individuals, and of abusive exercise of functions in the case of public servants.

Five of them are active public servantsincluding the General Director of Works (DRO) and the Co-Responsible for Facilities and Industrial Safety, while the remaining three are individuals.

The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that said public servants could have facilitated illegal or false documentation during the exercise of their functions, which would have directly led to the fall of cement on Metro line 12.

Ulises Lara López, head of the capital’s Prosecutor’s Officesaid in a message to the media that the accusations were derived from various investigations and procedures related to the leakage of water, mixed with various corrosive substancesin facilities of the Collective Transportation System (STC), specifically at the Eje Central-Parque de los Venados inter station.

He reported that the initial hearing of the accused was postponed to May 3 so that “their defenders can prevail in the proceedings.”


He guaranteed that, to respect the presumption of innocence of those accused, they will be treated as such in all stages of the procedure, “as long as their responsibility is not declared by a sentence issued by the jurisdictional body.”

Batres blames the real estate cartel in Benito Juárez

Marti Batres, head of Government of Mexico Citypointed out in recent days that the incident, which had its origin in a work authorized by the Benito Juárez mayor’s office and “whose perforation of the ground reached the Metro tunnel, It is another consequence of the corruption of the real estate cartel”.

He Metro director, Guillermo Calderonexplained that the accident was caused by works related to the construction of apartments and that “caused a leak”. For this reason, the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) closed the work in question while the investigations are carried out.
