CHICAGO — Are you looking for the most photo-friendly spots to post a picture to the ‘gram? One research outlet did the work for you and found the 12 most Instagram-able places to take a picture across the City of Chicago.
The outlet, bonusfinder.com, analyzed more than 2,700 landmarks nationally by comparing the total number of their three most popular hashtags on Instagram to reveal which are the most popular across the country.
When it came to Chicago, Wrigley Field was crowned champion as the most Instagram-able spot in the city (and Illinois in general) with more than 557,000 hashtags on Instagram, which included #wrigleyfield, #wrigleyfieldchicago and #wrigleyfield100.
Coming in second was another sports venue — The Chicago Bears’ Soldier Field — with 234,762 pictures hashtagged on Instagram last year using #soldierfield, #soldierfieldstadium and #soldierfield10mile.
Both Chicago stadiums also did well on the national rankings, with Wrigley Field ranking as the fourth-most Instagrammed MLB ballpark (after Yankee Stadium, Dodger Stadium and the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park) and Soldier Field ranking as the third-most Instagrammed NFL stadium (after the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium and MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Giants and Jets).
The legendary Chicago Theatre was revealed as the third most Instagram-able spot in the Windy City with 221,029 hashtags that included #chicagotheatre, #chicagotheater and #chicagotheatredistrict.
Rounding out the top 5 most photographed landmarks in Chicago were the Art Institute of Chicago with 192,878 hashtags, and Skydeck Chicago with 189,461 hashtags.
