Children’s passports and a car stolen in alleged burglaries in Hall Road and Joyce Green Lane in Dartford

A suspected burglar has been charged after two homes were broken into and a car was stolen.

The first burglary was reported in Hall Road, Dartford in the early hours of yesterday (April 17) where electrical items were stolen along with children’s passports.

Shortly after this a house around the corner in Joyce Green Lane was broken into where a car was stolen along with a laptop and cash.

Officers attended and a man was arrested at around 11am.

Items from the first burglary were also recovered and handed back to the victim.

Sam Hawkins, of Pembroke Road, Erith, has since been charged on suspicion of two counts of burglary.

The 37-year-old is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today (April 18).
