Rio – Agents from the Cargo Robbery and Theft Police Station (DRFC) carried out, this Tuesday morning (7), an operation against a gang specialized in theft of high-value cargo. So far, six people have been arrested. According to investigations, the group belongs to Comando Vermelho (CV), identified as the largest criminal faction in the state.
The police officers went out to execute nine arrest warrants and nine search and seizure warrants. The investigations began in February this year after a series of cargo thefts on Rodovia Washington Luís, near Reduc, in Caxias. According to the police, the loads were taken to the Jardim Gramacho community, in Caxias.
Among the criminals identified, the police highlighted that several were monitored by electronic ankle bracelets. However, the corporation emphasizes that the use of the equipment did not intimidate, as they participated in the robberies.
