Claudia Sheinbaum’s Plan H – El Financiero

Who knows what is worse: that Claudia Sheinbaum persists in presenting herself as a clone of the person who gave her the presidential candidacy or that she exhibits her own thoughts. The second floor of the 4T that the candidate offers is actually a level down from the ode to the poverty of the workerism.

For the Palace tenant, poverty is a sublime state, at least for others (his children and other rapacious relatives love, like AMLO, the bills obtained thanks to political power). The Tabasco native’s hatred for the middle and rich classes is congruent with his Manichean vision of good and bad: those who have little material wealth, however, have great spiritual fortune. AMLO would have been an extraordinary screenwriter of golden cinema films like We poor.

Because poverty implies virtues such as honesty, dignity, decency, being a worker and having love for one’s neighbor. Aspiring to be a middle class is therefore condemnable. His vision is that the government will take care of the people. It will provide him, so that he can travel down that path of poverty, with crutches designed by AMLO himself, in the form of subsidies, scholarships and pensions. It is the vision of a Mexico that is backward and happy, poor and dignified, with millions of good people depending, from childhood to old age, on the government.

Sheinbaum Pardo takes a step forward towards that abyss of poverty. In his vision he is no longer a hard-working Pepe the Bull or Tarcisio (“I’m here old, I’m leaving old”), the multi-job janitor in At full speed. Now he is a Lazy Tarcisio (with a capital H) who, with his numerous offspring, lives well at the expense of the government. Because the Mexican State takes charge. The poor guy is good, decent and, the novelty in the lowered level of the 4T that Sheinbaum offers, a Huevón (same, with a capital H).

Among the few intellectual novelties of the former head of Government, is adding Plan H to Plan C that her employer already designed for her and that she, with the usual courtesy, promised to abide by without changing a comma. One would be in charge of destroying the institutions of the Mexican government that limit presidential power, AMLO’s revenge even if it is on a date after his official expiration as a politician. The doctor’s Plan H, on the other hand, will be responsible for destroying the incentive to industriousness, to effort of all kinds. Because it is understood that, if it is no longer necessary to work to live well, neither will it be necessary to study or prepare in any way.

Something strange, perhaps, from an academic who did not seem to shy away from effort throughout her life, but finally consistent with the woman who has denied her own personality in order to sell herself as the carbon copy of the person who for decades held her hand through politics. If someone who proclaims herself a fervent environmentalist shamelessly applauds refineries as well as another ecological disaster like the Mayan Train, it is not surprising that she denies work and effort as a necessary path to personal well-being, and instead promotes reaching out.

It is Plan H of the lazy, lazy and lazy, the antithesis that so many governments ask of their citizens. But, yes, consistent with that passion for the dependent and grateful poor who, as AMLO said one morning, are the most ardent defenders of the “transformation.” Without a doubt they will be the most enthusiastic militants of Claudia Sheinbaum’s Plan H. By the way, if people who receive government support couldn’t vote, who would surely win the presidential election?
